In order to make a SMARTER Hong Kong and improve the current pedestrian environment effectively, two pilot tools have been introduced. They are the first of many other measures in the foreseeable future to improve the pedestrian environment in Hong Kong, which are:

 

1) Street Width Adjustment Scheme

2) Reduce the Development Scope

 

"Street Width Adjustment Scheme" aims at increasing the effective street width by changing the street furniture smartly whereas "Reduce the Development Scope" targets at changing the development plan for the new development to suit the pedestrian road capacity. For the details of each pilot tool, please click on the figures below.
